What is it?: A Foam cleanser which dispenses product as foam – this reduces the chance of skin barrier disruption and pulling moisture from the skin. Supposed to maintain the skin barrier and calm down the skin.
Iunik highlights that this: Contains 69% Centella Asiatica Extract instead of water. Also has Tea Tree Leaf Water, Ormenis Multicaulis Oil and Rice Bran Extracts to help keep the skin moisturised and to soothe the skin (to reduce stripping of the oils of your skin).
”Cleanses the skin without stripping moisture or causing irritation.” – I agree with this statement as I think that this did gently cleanse my skin without pulling moisture / drying out my skin.
Good for: Sensitive, Dry Skin and dehydrated skin – I feel like cleansers that are already foamed are usually more gentler than foaming cleansers. I would also recommend the Hada Labo Foaming Cleanser.
Directions: ”Pump two to three times and lather. Wash face in a circular motion and rinse with lukewarm water, to reduce irritation, do not rub and let the gentle massaging of the bubbles do the work.’
NOTE: Iunik do state that this isn’t a makeup cleanser (so it shows you how gentle this cleanser is)
How I use it: I used this in the AM (back when I used to morning cleanse) – and this was gentle. I would not use this to remove makeup (I would initially use the DHC Cleansing oil as a double cleanse) and would use this after oil cleansing to remove any excess makeup left behind.
Key Ingredients: Centella Asiatica Leaf Water – calm down the skin, Liquorice root extract – brighten the skin. Glycerin, Butylene Glycol (moisturisation), Tea Tree Leaf Water (acne – technically), Rice Bran extract – skin conditioning.
Full Ingredients: Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Water, TEA-Cocoyl Glutamate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Trehalose, Allantoin, Ormenis Multicaulis Oil, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric Acid, Pentylene Glycol, Aspalathus Linearis Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Commiphora Myrrha Resin Extract, Perilla Frutescens Leaf Extract, Yucca Schidigera Root Extract
NOTE: Skincharisma have a full product ingredient list breakdown HERE
Texture: It’s a foam. A light foam – easy to massage into the skin. I do find that the Hada Labo HA foam cleanser IS WAY MORE FOAMY/THICKER than this gentle-like bubble foam cleanser.
Fragrance?: Contains Essential Oil ”Ormenis Multicaulis Oil” – also The diluted Tea Tree Leaf water has a remnant smell of tea tree.
Makeup Removal?: I would not use this as a first cleanse, but a second cleanse i.e. cleansing oil first, and then this foam second. It might require a 3rd wash depending how much makeup one is wearing. This won’t remove waterproof mascara, but I wouldn’t put it near my eyes.
How long have I been using this?: I used until completion.
The Effect?: Happily cleansed skin without drying out the skin.
